The appeal was filed to request that the Department of Education of Puerto Rico hand in information regarding spending in eduaction and its compliance with the Education Reform. We share our observations and the documents received to date.
The greatest risk of corruption lays in public procurement. Its weaknesses cost us up to 3.1 billion USD annually. In order to protect public resources, spent in contracting, Sembrando Sentido conducted the first evaluation on government procurement processes in Puerto Rico. The Evaluation includes an in-depth analysis, along with recommendations and favorable practices to prevent losses and improve the quality, integrity, and efficiency of essential services that are often contracted out by the government.
To delve deeper into post-hurricane María reconstruction efforts, challenges and solutions, Sembrando Sentido carried out an evaluation of public procurement processes with CDBG-DR funds in Puerto Rico.
The appeal was filed to request that the Office of Management and Budget provide information on the executive branch's compliance with mandates to reduce costs in procurement and contracts, and to support small- and medium-sized enterprises. We share our observations and the documents received to date.

At this critical juncture, Puerto Rico needs to promote governance that is truly ethical, efficient, transparent, and inclusive. As a member of the Fraud 2020 Committee led by the Colegio de CPA, Sembrando Sentido created a working group, together with Prof. Héctor Martínez and Milton Méndez, to draft recommendations aimed at combating corruption in Puerto Rico.
